Repair of metal parts by laser DED
A worn, cracked or out-of-tolerance part can bring equipment to a standstill and lead to significant replacement costs. Laser DED repair restores the part's dimensions in the damaged areas while preserving its mechanical properties and function. Laser DED is the solution to extend its service life and return it to service.
What laser DED can do for your parts
Laser DED gives a damaged part a new lease of life by restoring only the areas that need it, without replacing the whole component. This localised intervention makes it possible, in particular, to:
- restore the original dimensions of a worn, cracked or corroded part
- bring a part back into compliance without replacing the complete component
- work on thin or heat-sensitive components
- repair localised or hard-to-reach areas.
We adapt the deposition strategy, the filler material and the process – wire or powder laser DED – to the part and the requirements of its repair.
Materials: stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, cobalt-based alloys, titanium, aluminium and other technical metal alloys.
When repairing makes more sense than replacing
Replacement takes your equipment out of service for too long. When lead times run into weeks, particularly for specific alloys or components, repair reduces downtime and gets a part back into availability more quickly.
Limited damage condemns a high-value part. When only one area of the part is damaged, replacing the entire component can be disproportionate. Repair restores the damaged area and keeps a part that remains functional.
The part is no longer available on the market. An old component, discontinued, or a supplier that no longer makes it: laser DED makes it possible to restore the existing part and find a way to return it to service.

Your questions about laser DED repair
Laser DED can be used to repair a wide range of industrial components: turbines, engines, moulds, dies, tooling, railway components, drilling tools or parts for the energy and aerospace sectors. Feasibility depends mainly on the nature of the damage, the material and the requirements of the part.
The repair is designed to restore the expected dimensions and properties of the part. This relies on combined mastery of the process, metallurgy, deposition strategy and choice of filler material. These parameters are defined and validated according to the original material and the requirements of the application.
You do not need to determine feasibility yourself. By sending us the information available on the part, its material, the damaged area and its operating conditions, our teams can analyse your needs and assess the feasibility of the repair.
A part to return to service?
Describe your part and its damage. We will analyse whether it can be repaired and guide you towards the most suitable solution to return it to service.
