Every year, more than 1,300 engineers, technicians, operators and industrial managers train at IREPA LASER. Our courses cover all industrial laser technologies: laser safety, laser welding of metals and polymers, laser machining, additive manufacturing and applied metallurgy.

Our inter-company courses take place by video conference or at our training centre in Alsace, in Illkirch-Graffenstaden (67), depending on the programme chosen. For in-person sessions, the centre is easily reached from Strasbourg by public transport or by car.
For in-house training, we come to your premises in France and across Europe.
Some modules are also available as e-learning, to be completed independently at your own pace. If your needs do not match any programme in the catalogue, we also build tailor-made courses adapted to your objectives.
Your questions about our training
IREPA LASER has been Qualiopi-certified for training activities since 2020. This certification gives access to French professional training funding schemes: your company's skills development plan, OPCO, FNE-Formation. Our training team will identify the appropriate scheme with you and prepare the documents required for the funding application.
It depends on the course, and prerequisites are always stated on the programme sheet. Part of the catalogue is open with no prerequisites at all, notably laser safety courses at levels 1, 2 and 3, the Design and Construction of a Laser Machine course and The Keys to Your Additive Manufacturing Project. Others require general technical knowledge, a grounding in materials, or a previously obtained grade: the four welding specialisations require the Laser Welding Technologist grade. If in doubt, describe the participants' profile to us and we will validate the level before registration.
Yes, most of our programmes are available in-house, at your premises or at our centre. This is the format we recommend from four participants upwards, especially when the training needs to be based on your machines, your materials and your procedures. The programme is then adapted to your context: more than 60% of our courses are built together with the company requesting them.
There are three levels of recognition depending on the programme. All our sessions lead to a certificate of completion, and most of our technical courses to a training certificate validating the skills acquired. In laser safety, the SE.2, SE.2R, SE.3R and SE.3+ courses carry the CoNSOL label: they award a certificate certified by Photonics France and lead to registration in the national register of laser qualifications, which can be consulted online. This is the document your customers check. In laser welding, the pathway gives access to the titles of Technologist, then Specialist and Expert, depending on the specialisations taken. Finally, the Technicien Spécialiste des Procédés Industriels du Laser pathway awards a Technicien PRO-LASER certificate from LASER ACADEMY.
