Laser processes for watchmaking and jewellery: micro-assembly and finishing

Micro-welding of precious metals, precision engraving, micro-cutting and surface texturing: IREPA LASER develops and industrialises laser processes for parts where the joint must remain aesthetic and the finish flawless.

Our laser expertise

Laser micro-welding of precious metals

Sealed, aesthetic joints on small components. We master laser welding of precious metals as well as steels, titanium and the specific alloys used in watchmaking.

Precision engraving and marking

Laser engraving of dials and components, with fine control of depth and surface finish. The process is contact-free, with no tool wear and no consumables.

Laser micro-cutting

Cutting of miniaturised components to tight tolerances. Femtosecond lasers for a virtually zero heat-affected zone, where mechanical processes reach their limits.

Surface texturing

Modifying the properties of a surface without changing the part's geometry: visual and tactile appearance, friction behaviour, wear resistance. A laser alternative to certain chemical treatments.

Training in our laser processes for watchmaking and jewellery

Your teams can build their skills in our laser processes: micro-welding of precious metals, precision engraving and micro-cutting, surface texturing, additive manufacturing. Our training courses pass on the set-up methodology and inspection criteria essential for exceptional pieces with flawless precision and finish.

Practical applications

These are the applications we work on most frequently in the watchmaking and jewellery sector:

  • Micro-welding of invisible joints on small components
  • Precision engraving on dials and watch components
  • Micro-cutting of miniaturised parts without thermal damage
  • Surface texturing for a controlled visual or tactile appearance

Over 40 years of laser expertise serving industry

Laser technologies are transforming industrial processes: high-precision joining, metal additive manufacturing, micromachining of advanced materials. Yet implementing them on a production line remains complex. It requires mastery of physical phenomena, materials and throughput constraints.

Since 1982, IREPA LASER has supported manufacturers from the R&D phase through to series production. We are not just laser process experts: we are solution creators. Our R&D activity enables us to develop new processes, overcome technological barriers and give our clients answers where standard industrial solutions are no longer enough.

Every process we develop is qualified, documented and transferable to your teams.
