Laser processes for e-mobility: conductive joints, sealing and transition to series production
Welding of copper and aluminium, assembly of sensors and fluidic systems, adhesive-free polymer welding: IREPA LASER develops and industrialises laser processes for electric vehicle components.
Our laser expertise
Laser welding of copper and aluminium
Transmission welding of copper and aluminium alloys requires fine control of heat input because of their reflectivity. This is expertise we practise and teach, on power components as well as conductive joints.
Assembly of sensors and fluidic systems
Laser welding of assemblies where sealing and precision determine function: sensors, fluidic systems, power components. A non-contact, consumable-free process that limits the risk of distortion and contamination.
Laser welding of engineering polymers
Sealed joints in engineering thermoplastics (PE, PP, PA, PC, PEEK, PET) by transmission welding, without adhesive or consumables. The process makes it possible to weld parts containing electronics without exposing sensitive components.
Surface texturing
Laser texturing to improve adhesion before bonding or coating, modify friction behaviour or functionalise a contact surface, without chemical treatment.
Industrialisation and pre-series
Process securing, production set-up, performance testing, then production of assemblies in small and medium batches. This is the stage where the move from prototype to production rate is decided.
Training in our laser processes for e-mobility
Your teams can build their skills in our laser processes: welding of copper and aluminium, sealed assembly of sensors and fluidic systems, welding of engineering polymers. Our training courses pass on the set-up methodology and inspection criteria essential for conductive, sealed joints that meet your requirements.
Practical applications
These are the applications we work on most frequently in the e-mobility sector:
- Transmission welding of copper and aluminium power components
- Sealed assembly of sensors and fluidic systems
- Welding of polymer housings containing sensitive electronic components
- Surface texturing before structural bonding
Over 40 years of laser expertise serving industry
Laser technologies are transforming industrial processes: high-precision joining, metal additive manufacturing, micromachining of advanced materials. Yet implementing them on a production line remains complex. It requires mastery of physical phenomena, materials and throughput constraints.
Since 1982, IREPA LASER has supported manufacturers from the R&D phase through to series production. We are not just laser process experts: we are solution creators. Our R&D activity enables us to develop new processes, overcome technological barriers and give our clients answers where standard industrial solutions are no longer enough.
Every process we develop is qualified, documented and transferable to your teams.
