Laser welding of a cream jar (Cosmetics / Luxury / Packaging)
Industrial need
Developing a new generation of cosmetic containers combining premium aesthetics, mechanical strength and reliable process industrialisation. The need also includes the design of modular jars allowing internal decorative elements to be integrated before assembly, while eliminating the constraints associated with adhesives and traditional joining processes.
IREPA LASER solution
Development of a butt-joint laser welding process suited to transparent polymers, working without adhesive or specific additives. Design of dedicated tooling and optimisation of mid-infrared laser parameters to ensure controlled, clean and reproducible melting of the interfaces.
Technical challenge
Producing a joint that is both strong and aesthetically flawless, with no visual alteration to the final product and ensuring compatibility with decorative elements integrated into the part.
Results achieved
The process delivers an aesthetic and robust joint with mechanical strength meeting industrial requirements. Welding time is optimised and the use of adhesive is completely eliminated, while maintaining premium visual quality.
