LaserAP 2022 seminar: lasers and applications
The LASERAP 2022 seminar: lasers and applications, whose scientific committee includes our additive manufacturing expert Didier BOISSELIER, will take place from 10 to 14 October 2022 at the Club VVF in Semur-en-Auxois (21).
The aim of this seminar is twofold. On the one hand, it provides broad training for PhD students and industry professionals on the physics of laser processes and the latest developments in applications; on the other, it offers a shared review of the activities, needs and scientific and technical challenges of each participant, whether in a research topic or a specific industrial application.
The range of applications covered extends from well-established macroscopic processes such as cutting or welding with continuous-wave lasers, through additive manufacturing with fibre lasers, to the more recent micromachining and surface structuring processes using ultrashort pulse lasers. Beam shaping techniques and the safety issues associated with implementing laser processes will also be addressed. The programme is built around 10 themed sessions, each comprising a review of the fundamentals and physical phenomena involved, a modelling section and an applications section.
All participants in the school are offered the opportunity to publish in special issues of 4 scientific journals: Metallurgical Research & Technology (MRT), EPJ Applied Physics (EPJAP), Manufacturing Review (MFR) and Matériaux & Techniques.
