A3TS technical day – 3 December 2020

The Association de Traitement Thermique et de Traitement de Surface (A3TS) organises regional conference cycles.

The Technical Day organised by the Est-Alsace Section will be held on 3 December 2020 in Colmar. It will address the following theme: “Repair of parts and tools by material deposition or coating”.

Technologies for repairing parts and tools are becoming increasingly varied and high-performing. In addition to weld overlaying, these include laser powder deposition, the various thermal spraying techniques, and also selective electroplating. The aim of this day is to present different technologies, illustrated with application examples from various fields: mining and cement, agriculture, automotive, aerospace… The talks will cover both the processes and the issues specific to repair in the context of customer follow-up and validation.

At this technical day, Didier Boisselier, our additive manufacturing expert, will present: “Cladding and repair by laser powder deposition (DED-CLAD®): mature, industrial processes”.
