Large-format additive manufacturing
With the PAM-PROD project, IREPA LASER aims to produce large metal parts.
PAM-PROD (Procédés Additive Manufacturing – Productivité) is an industry-oriented project coordinated by APERAM and IREPA LASER. It is funded by BPI under a PSPC.
The Grand Est region is supporting the project and co-financing a 500 m² building. This will enable IREPA LASER to house the future PAM-PROD prototype machine in its “Additive Manufacturing Factory”.
This hybrid machine – combining laser, wire deposition and powder deposition – will be able to manufacture compliant parts, right from the first part, up to 6 metres in size, while dividing the unit cost by 3.
Bringing together 6 partners, the project – worth 7 million euros – will run for 36 months. The first parts are expected by 2021.
