‘Expert Laser 2017’ Days

Franck RIGOLET, laser safety expert at IREPA LASER, is taking part in the ‘Expert Laser 2017’ days organised by ES Technology. He is giving a talk on the safety regulations and standards applicable to workers exposed to laser radiation.
Abstract of the talk:
Now indispensable in industry, artificial optical radiation (including lasers) presents risks to human health that are still often poorly understood. In view of these risks, the Labour Code imposes various obligations on employers designed to protect the health and safety of workers.
Employers, being responsible for the health and safety of their employees, are therefore required to assess all risks, implement appropriate protective measures, inform or train the workers concerned and have their fitness for the job checked.
The talk therefore aims to provide an overview of employers’ obligations in the overall field of artificial optical radiation, and more specifically lasers.
