“IMPRESSION 3D, L’USINE DU FUTUR” exhibition

From 1 April to 9 July 2016 – Lieu du Design (Paris)

IREPA LASER presents its CLAD® process in Paris as part of the “IMPRESSION 3D, L’USINE DU FUTUR” exhibition, the result of a partnership between the Lieu du Design and the Centre Pompidou. This first French exhibition on additive manufacturing, often described as the 4th Industrial Revolution, highlights its industrial, economic, creative and societal challenges through creations in the fields of design, architecture, transport, fashion, health, research and food.

Curated by designer François Brument, the exhibition takes the form of a trail that explores, theme by theme and with objects on display, all the potential of this revolution. From 1 April to 9 July 2016 at the Lieu du Design in Paris, visitors will be able to discover the new uses and numerous economic opportunities offered by 3D printing.

A book published by Dunod is on sale for the occasion, featuring a dedicated page on our “FALAFEL” research programme. Launched in 2014, this programme aimed at the innovative manufacture of aeronautical and space components using the CLAD® (Construction Laser Additive Directe) and SLM (Selective Laser Melting) processes. The results of our work demonstrated the ability to manufacture large metal parts (titanium, steel,…) (Ø 600 mm – h 700 mm) weighing up to 300kg, such as a hot air / cold air mixer.
