HAGER Group – Our customers speak
We had the pleasure of working with Mr Daniel OSSWALD, Safety Officer in the HSE department at HAGER Group. Here is his testimonial:
“My role is to assess risks, particularly those relating to artificial optical radiation (ROA). To that end, I attended the “Laser Safety Competent Person” (PCSL) training at IREPA LASER in 2016.
The approach to preventing ROA exposure risks aimed to protect the health and safety of staff along 3 main lines:
- Provision of equipment compliant with current regulations
- Risk assessment at workstations and during maintenance
- Staff information / training
An audit carried out by Mr RIGOLET of IREPA LASER in 2016 made it possible to check the relevance of the training cycles according to the type of staff and their responsibilities.
The complete compliance process included:
- Drawing up a prevention plan for new employees (fixed-term, permanent, temporary staff, apprentices, interns, administrative staff, managers, members of senior management…) and external contractors. Around 450 people were trained per year.
- Identifying staff and raising their awareness of ROA risks.
- Identifying staff and the “Person Exposed to Laser Risks” training.
- Compliance analysis of certain machines.
IREPA LASER provided us with excellent support throughout this process, which is part of HAGER Group’s strong overall risk prevention policy.”
