IREPA LASER sells its subsidiary BeAM to the AddUp group
The start-up BeAM, founded in 2012 by IREPA LASER to market its first CLAD® additive manufacturing machines under licence, joined the AddUp group in June 2018. A joint venture between Michelin and Fives, AddUp is the French leader in the design, production and sale of metal 3D printing machines.
BeAM: the pride of IREPA LASER!
After ten years of developing its CLAD® additive manufacturing process, and with very promising results, the ambition arose to exploit its technological advances through an independent commercial company.
Based in Strasbourg, BeAM has, in five years and with the support of the Centre de Ressources Technologiques IREPA LASER, become the leading European manufacturer of industrial additive manufacturing machines using powder deposition. BeAM and its 38 employees now count a panel of renowned international customers, particularly in the aeronautics, defence and energy sectors.
Complementary ambitions
According to Vincent Gillet, CEO of BeAM: “The company had reached a critical period in its growth.” The takeover by the AddUp group will enable BeAM to stabilise its machines, have the parts they produce certified and maintain its development momentum.
