Passing of Alain Diard

It is with regret that we announce the death of Alain Diard, who passed away on 18 November after a long illness.

We had known Alain for some thirty years, first as a research partner in European R&D programmes, then as President of IREPA LASER, a role he held with dedication and constant commitment from 1998 to 2016.

With his experience and great humanity, he guided IREPA LASER along the path of industry and professionalism. A pragmatic man, he helped us apply structuring methods and tools drawn from the business world to support our growth. He always placed great trust in us to implement the decisions of the Board of Directors. His advice was always pertinent and marked by understanding and tolerance.

Beyond these professional relationships, Alain was a friend and we shared many convivial moments with him, often around a good table.

His passing leaves a great void in the laser world.
