The CRT label: a label that carries innovation and technology high and far
IREPA LASER is a Centre de Ressources Technologiques. But what does that mean?
Here is an explanation.
What is a CRT?
The CRT contributes effectively to the attractiveness of industry, to strengthening employment, and to the attractiveness and development of our regions at regional, national and international level.
The Centre de Ressources Technologiques (CRT) carries out a public-interest mission, as does the Cellule de Diffusion Technologique (CDT). The CRT directly assists companies, particularly SMEs, in defining their needs, contributes to the development of their activities through innovation and technology, and draws on networks of expertise.
This assistance is tailored to each company, follows a global approach and takes into account the disciplines that accompany technological development: transfer, marketing, project management, business strategy, regulations, technology watch…
There are currently 64 CRT-certified organisations, represented by the AFCRT.
And what is the CRT label?
A Centre de Ressources Technologiques (CRT) is a French “quality label” for a technological support organisation for businesses.
The CRT recognition procedure, aimed at qualifying technological support organisations for businesses, was set up in 1996 jointly by the Ministry of Research and the Ministry responsible for Industry. Its objective is to provide SMEs with the guarantee that the organisation they approach is capable of providing them with appropriate, high-quality answers.
The objective of a CRT is therefore to provide SMEs with tailor-made technological services.
Generally, their legal form is a non-profit association, but recently other legal forms better suited to the activity of these organisations (SCIC for the CRT IREPA LASER, for example) have been emerging.
What does the CRT label recognise?
CRT status is awarded to organisations capable of responding professionally to the needs of SMEs. A set of specifications describes the conditions required to obtain this “quality label”.
Three characteristics of CRTs are described as essential:
- Professionalism in carrying out the services provided, particularly in terms of results, cost, lead time and confidentiality
- Provision of tailor-made services for companies
- The services must concern innovative projects of SMEs
