All about the CLAD® process
Would you like to benefit from an innovative laser manufacturing system for producing high-quality parts? Discover the many advantages of the CLAD® process with laser process specialist IREPA LASER and BeAM additive manufacturing machines.
What is the CLAD® process?
The Construction Laser Additive Directe process, also known as CLAD®, was developed by IREPA LASER to create technical parts by stacking layers of material. This ingenious technique melts metal powders with a laser in order to control the dimensions of the deposit created. IREPA LASER has a fleet of CLAD® machines built by BeAM, guaranteeing you the best results. These machines, recognised for their expertise in the laser industry, make it possible to produce metal parts in 3 and 5 continuous axes.
What are the advantages of this manufacturing method?
- Implementing the CLAD® process reduces manufacturing costs thanks to lower fixed costs, as no moulds or tooling are required.
- This technique makes it possible to cut production lead times by 50%, notably thanks to shorter procurement times and a higher manufacturing speed.
- The CLAD® process guarantees products of high metallurgical quality.
- It allows greater freedom in product design by offering a wider choice of materials and enabling several materials and property gradients to be used simultaneously.
- CLAD® also falls into the category of eco-processes, as it allows the use of « just the right amount of material ».
