The laser welding training courses on offer

IREPA LASER offers a comprehensive range of training courses to meet the varied needs of laser welding professionals. Our modules are designed to give you immediately applicable skills.

Here is an overview of the main training courses available:

Mastering laser welding – Automated process (AL2-1)

The exceptional performance of this technology requires complete mastery of all parameters. Alternating between theory and practice, you will learn to master the process and acquire a working methodology. A comprehensive course that will give you many setting tips and lead to the title of “Technologist in Automated Continuous-Wave Laser Metal Welding”. This course can also be supplemented with options to achieve the title of specialist or expert (options available: butt welding, lap (penetration) welding, inspection of welded joints).

The title of “Specialist in Automated Continuous-Wave Laser Metal Welding Level II” is awarded after completing 1 to 2 welding specialisations.

Optimising butt welds – Carbon steels and stainless steels (AC2-1)

This specialisation is an optional add-on to our “Mastering laser welding” course. To implement butt welding as effectively as possible, discover and learn the right reflexes, from design through parameters to inspection. The “Mastering laser welding” course combined with this specialisation enables you to reach the grade of “Laser Welding Specialist”.

Inspection of laser-welded metal joints (AC2-2)

This specialisation is an optional add-on to our “Mastering laser welding” course. To enable you to carry out inspections and, above all, interpret them, discover and learn the knowledge that will allow you to correct variations in your welding process and optimise its quality.

Optimising lap (penetration) welding of stainless steel (AC2-3)

This specialisation is an optional add-on to our “Mastering laser welding” course. A technical course dedicated to complex materials such as stainless steels. You will learn to adjust the laser parameters for precise and durable results, even in the most demanding applications.

Optimising lap (penetration) welding of copper and aluminium (AC2-4)

This specialisation is an optional add-on to our “Mastering laser welding” course. A technical course dedicated to complex materials such as copper-based materials and aluminium. You will learn to adjust the laser parameters for precise and durable results, even in the most demanding applications.

Automated laser welding essentials (AL.2-8)

This course is a must for all project managers tasked with investing in an automated laser metal welding installation. It is a real opportunity to understand the process and play an active part in pre-investment test campaigns. Our aim: to give you the keys to make your path to the final decision as successful as possible.

Please note: this course is not suitable for manual laser welding.

Becoming a manual laser welder safely (AL.2-9)

Over the past few months, manual laser welding has been revolutionising an entire area of work for boilermakers, metalworkers and other welded-fabrication trades. Welders were quickly confronted with this new process without really understanding how the laser beam interacts with the material or what the key parameters might be. Although the process is very quick to pick up, it requires specific safety conditions imposed by regulations. While there is great confusion in social media messages, serious accidents have already been recorded in France. The aim of this course is to work hands-on with a welding laser to understand its specific characteristics and to comply with safety regulations.
