The different laser welding training courses on offer
IREPA LASER offers a comprehensive range of training courses to meet the varied needs of laser welding professionals. Our modules are designed to give you immediately applicable skills.
Here is an overview of the main training courses available:
Mastering laser welding – Automated process (AL2-1)
The exceptional performance of this technology requires complete mastery of all parameters. By alternating between theory and practice, you will learn to master the process and acquire a sound working methodology. A comprehensive training course that will give you many setting tips and lead to the title of “Technologist in Automated Continuous-Wave Laser Welding of Metals”.
This training course can also be supplemented with options to obtain the title of specialist or expert (available options: butt welding, overlap (transparency) welding, inspection of welded joints).
The title of “Specialist in Automated Continuous-Wave Laser Welding of Metals Level II” is awarded after completing 1 to 2 welding specialisations.
From 3 specialisations onwards, the title of expert is awarded.
Optimising butt welds – Carbon steels and stainless steels (AC2-1)
This specialisation is a complementary option to our “Mastering laser welding” training course.
To get the best out of butt welding, discover and learn the right reflexes, from design through parameters to inspection.
The “Mastering laser welding” training course combined with this specialisation enables you to achieve the grade of “Laser Welding Specialist”.
Inspection of laser-welded metal joints (AC2-2)
This specialisation is a complementary option to our “Mastering laser welding” training course.
To enable you to carry out inspections and, above all, interpret them, discover and acquire the knowledge that will allow you to correct variations in your welding process and optimise its quality.
Optimising lap (penetration) welding of stainless steel (AC2-3)
This specialisation is a complementary option to our “Mastering laser welding” training course.
A technical training course dedicated to complex materials such as stainless steels.
You will learn to adjust laser parameters for precise and lasting results, even in the most demanding applications.
Optimising lap (penetration) welding of copper and aluminium (AC2-4)
This specialisation is a complementary option to our “Mastering laser welding” training course.
A technical training course dedicated to complex materials such as copper-based materials and aluminium alloys.
You will learn to adjust laser parameters for precise and lasting results, even in the most demanding applications.
The essentials of automated laser welding (AL.2-8)
This training course is a must for all project managers tasked with investing in an automated metal laser welding installation.
It is a real opportunity to understand the process and to take an active part in pre-investment test campaigns.
Our aim: to give you the keys to successfully navigate the path to your final decision. Please note: this training course is not suitable for manual laser welding.
Becoming a manual laser welder safely (AL.2-9)
In recent months, manual laser welding has been revolutionising a whole area of work for boilermakers, metalworkers and other welded fabrication trades.
Welders were quickly confronted with this new process without really understanding how the laser beam interacts with the material or what the key parameters might be.
While this process is very quick to pick up, it requires specific safety conditions imposed by regulations. Amid widespread confusion in social media messages, serious accidents have already been recorded in France.
The aim of this training course is to put a welding laser into practice in order to understand its specific features and comply with safety regulations.
