Development of a transmission welding process using ultrashort pulse lasers. This approach allows welding directly at the interface without additives, with precise control of the deposited energy even in thick sections.
Technical challenge
Mastering the welding of thick parts with complex geometries while ensuring the formation of stable, homogeneous volumetric weld seams. The process must guarantee the quality of the bond throughout the thickness without degrading the properties of the glass.
Results achieved
The process produces transparent weld seams with very high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to thermal cycling. It ensures efficient processing of thick sections, without post-treatment, with competitive cycle times and good thermal insulation.
