Laser surface texturing: stainless steel

Texturing large surfaces of more than one square metre at processing speeds compatible with industrial cost and productivity constraints. The aim is to make laser texturing viable on a large scale, beyond applications limited to small surfaces.

Use of ultrashort pulse laser technology coupled with a high-speed polygon scanner. This combination makes it possible to achieve high processing speeds while maintaining great precision in the texture generated.

The challenge is to transfer a technology originally suited to surfaces of around 100 cm² to surfaces larger than 1 m², while maintaining the quality, continuity and precision of the patterns. It is also necessary to guarantee uniform processing without stitching or segmentation effects, within very short cycle times.

The solution makes it possible to texture surfaces larger than 1 m² in less than 10 minutes, with no junction zones or patch effects. This performance opens up large-scale industrial applications, with a significant gain in productivity and uniform surface quality across the entire part.
